Missing submodules support
Reported by: | Tom Lazar | Owned by: | Herbert Valerio Riedel |

Severity: | normal | Keywords: | |
Cc: | Trac Release: | 0.11 |
Description
Browsing to a submodule of a repository results in this error
internal error (got unexpected object kind 'commit')
Is this a bug or has submodule support simply not been implemented (yet)?
Are there any plans to introduce/fix submodule support? If not, could you perhaps give some feedback re: what needs to be done?

Replying to tomster:
I just found #1040 which already answers the question above.
It also mentions two alternatives: one is to use a multi-repo development version of trac, the other to use the socalled 'subtree merge' approach.
from all possibilities the submodule approach still seems to be the most desirable. which still leaves the other two questions open :)
